Trust me, it adds character!
I normally don’t advocate anything from the 1970’s, but I’ll have to make an exception for these shoes. The Wallace & Barnes P204 is the right amount of outrageous that I’ve needed to inject into my wardrobe!
I know that we focus on tailoring a lot on this blog, but I think its time that we explore the seldom seen side of Golden Era Style: casual.
I loved my last post on the topic of creative layering, so I decided to make another one! Here we get some rarer pieces out of the closet to play with some classic style!
With the exception of tuxedos, I believe that there is no distinction between “formal” and “casual” clothes; everything you own should be simply be articles to create any look you want. With a suit, you great two great pieces: the suit jacket and the trousers. In this post, we focus on leaving your jeans at home and walking out in your suit pants! Just because they’re suit pants doesn’t mean you have to dress fancy; you can dress them down!
I don’t wear suits everyday, yet most people associate me with them. This is true of Vivianna; she’s often associated with dark colours. In fact, she was in our Campus Search Tuesday pulling off an all-black look. But she doesn’t do it often. Vivianna isn’t afraid to break out of what people expect of her and that’s why she’s this weeks Wearable Women Wednesday.

A few weeks ago, I was able to watch Kingsman, a British spy/comedy movie. In the movie, Colin Firth’s character “Galahad” (his Kingsman codename), repeatedly said “manners maketh man” before he kicked some bad guy butt. Throughout the film, there were many references to gentlemanly fashion, such as “oxfords, not brogues” (oxfords are plain, while brogues have the wingtip design) and the importance of a well tailored suit. In fact, the suits in the universe of the film were even bulletproof! Here, I show off two outfits inspired by two characters from the film: Galahad and Merlin.
