Despite a long construction ahead, LACMA opened it’s doors to the well dressed community of LA for their Dapper Day evening.

Obviously the squad had to show up and do our thang.

The Bloke Holiday Party & Ring Jacket Trunk Show

IMG_8968

Had some Holiday fun with the SoCal menswear scene at one of my favorite, if not only, classic menswear stores in Los Angeles!  It also happened to be the site of the seasonal Ring Jacket trunk show, which I had always wanted to check out.

High Contrast Summer Outfits

IMG_3876

It’s long, deal with it.

It’s been a while since we’ve done a post on actual style advice; a lot of the articles have been pretty educational as of late.  Well, seeing as it’s summer, I thought that it would be pertinent to give of some ideas on how to dress.  Something that we’ve loved doing to make an interesting outfit in hot weather (that has direct connotations to the 1930s-1940s) is by going high contrast.

The 1910s Novelty Tie

It’s Spencer’s first article!

A century ago, a suit and tie was the everyday attire for men. To differentiate between work and play, men would have fun with accessories. While many of those same accouterments still exits, one item that has been faded from the collective consciousness is this style of novelty tie popular from the turn of the century up until the early 1920s, faithfully reproduced by Damian Monsivais of Monsivais & Co.

A Subdued Spring/Summer Pitti Uomo

REVO 2015: “Thrifted Neckwear”

Untitled

This year, Rajesh and I decided to design our own line for REVO, our university’s annual fashion show for charity.  Because it’s already May, we focused our line on spring menswear!  We wanted to show people that what we create is wearable on a daily basis and isn’t restricted to just staying on the runway.  So in addition to styling our models we also created something so hipster and awesome:  our own unique line of neckties.

Pitti Uomo Style

Pitti Uomo is the menswear event of the year.  Its the time when fashion designers come out and show off their latest designs and styles to store owners.  As a result, some of the most well dressed men from around the world come and stand around smoking and eating, getting pictures taken of them.  Even though I couldn’t be in Florence with them, I still dressed up to be apart of it.
